When you access your account via File Manager or FTP, you might notice a folder called public_ftp. This folder is created by default on cPanel-based servers and is intended for anonymous FTP logins.
Important Security Note
At Hosting Chilli, anonymous FTP access is disabled by default for security reasons. This means:
- The public_ftp folder is not used.
- No one can upload or download files from it anonymously.
- It's essentially just an unused folder on your account.
Can You Delete It?
Yes, since the public_ftp folder serves no function on our servers, you can safely delete it. It will not affect your website or hosting services.
Tip: Keeping your hosting account clean and organized helps you avoid confusion later.
