FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a fast and efficient way to upload multiple files to your Hosting Chilli server. While cPanel’s File Manager allows for simple uploads, it’s limited to one file at a time. With FTP, you can upload entire folders and large file sets in just a few clicks.

No FTP Account? No Problem!

You don’t need to create a separate FTP account to connect. Just use your cPanel username and password to access your server’s Home directory.

FTP Connection Settings

Here’s what you’ll need to connect via FTP:

  • Hostname: Your domain name (e.g. mydomain.com)
  • Username: Your cPanel username (e.g. username99)
  • Password: Your cPanel password
  • Port: 21 (standard FTP port)

If your domain is not yet pointing to our servers, use the server IP address instead of the domain name.

How to View Your FTP Settings in cPanel

Log in to cPanel
Visit: yourdomain.com/cpanel (Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name)

Navigate to FTP Accounts
Under the Files section, click FTP Accounts.

Find Your Details
In the Special FTP Accounts section, look for your cPanel username.
Click Configure FTP Client next to it to view your full settings.

You're now ready to connect via FTP and start uploading your website files with ease! Need help? Our support team is always here for you.
