If you've forgotten your FTP password or just want to update it, resetting it in cPanel is quick and easy.
Note: If you're using your cPanel username to connect via FTP, the FTP password is the same as your cPanel password. You can change it from your main account settings.
How to Reset Your FTP Password
- Log in to your cPanel.
- Under the Files section, click FTP Accounts.
- Find the FTP account you want to update and click Change Password in the Actions column.
- Enter your new password, then click Change Password.
Don't Forget!
If you’ve saved your old FTP password in an FTP client or website builder (like WinSCP or Dreamweaver), make sure to update it there too—otherwise, you won’t be able to connect.
