Your FTP password doesn’t always change when you update your cPanel password because it depends on how the FTP account was created:
Main FTP Account (linked to cPanel user):
- If you're using the default/main FTP account (the one with the same username as your cPanel account), then: Changing your cPanel password does change your FTP password.
Additional FTP Accounts (created manually):
- If you created extra FTP accounts via cPanel ? FTP Accounts, then: Changing your cPanel password does not affect these FTP accounts.
To change their passwords:
- Log in to cPanel.
- Go to FTP Accounts.
- Click "Change Password" next to the specific FTP account.
