Yes, you can still upload your website through an FTP client even if you're behind a router.
Here’s how it works:
What You Need:
- Your FTP hostname (usually ftp.yourdomain.com or your server IP)
- Your FTP username and password (provided in your welcome email)
- An FTP client like FileZilla, Cyberduck, or WinSCP
Important Notes:
- Passive Mode: Routers often block active FTP connections. To fix this, enable Passive Mode in your FTP client settings. This allows you to connect successfully even behind firewalls and NAT routers.
- Firewall & Antivirus: Ensure your computer's firewall or antivirus isn't blocking FTP ports (usually port 21).
Steps to Connect:
- Open your FTP client.
- Enter the hostname, username, password, and port (default is 21).
- Make sure Passive Mode is enabled (usually under Connection or Transfer settings).
- Connect and start uploading files to the public_html folder.
