When a domain name expires, it doesn't immediately become available to the public. Instead, it enters a grace period, during which the previous registrant still has the right to renew it. This period can last up to 45 days, depending on the domain extension and registrar policies.
During the grace period:
- The domain may appear as "expired" in public WHOIS or lookup tools.
- It will still be unavailable for registration by others.
- Only the previous owner can renew the domain.
What Can You Do?
If you're interested in acquiring the domain, you can place a backorder through us.
To backorder a domain:
- Contact our support team to initiate the backorder process.
- We will monitor the domain and attempt to secure it on your behalf as soon as it becomes available.
Please note:
- Backordering does not guarantee registration, but it increases your chances of acquiring the domain once it's released.
- Some expired domains may go to public auction instead of being directly released. If this happens, we can assist you in participating in the auction process.
