What is an Authorisation Code? Print

  • 0

An Authorisation Code (also known as an EPP Code or AuthInfo) is a unique password assigned to a domain name. This code is required when transferring the registration of domains such as .com, .net, .org, and other generic top-level domains (gTLDs) between registrars.

  • It acts as a security measure to ensure that only the domain owner can authorize the transfer.
  • You must obtain it from your current registrar before initiating the transfer.

If you're planning to move your domain to Hosting Chilli, be sure to get your Authorisation Code from your current provider.
